Making sandwiches is always fun, but it teaches a lot of practical English as well as encourages children to try out making food for themselves. In the kitchen, though, it’s essential for parents to supervise any children’s involvement with dangerous items and tools.

We were making sandwiches, so everything was prepared beforehand and the bread was already cut. Students had to choose what they want to use; and how they want to assemble the food.

Of course, while we made a dessert type sandwich with bananas, peanut butter, strawberry jelly, and (a new one for me) caramel/chocolate spread. I wanted to throw in a little sugar but it turned out to be salt… so that was quickly nixed.

There are some photos included, and of course, the worksheet you can download yourself.
